Join Us for the 2nd Livingstone International Cultural Arts Festival: A Celebration of Diversity and Unity
Mark your calendars for an unforgettable weekend of culture, music, and dance as the Zambia Tourism Board proudly hosts the 2nd Livingstone International Cultural Arts Festival. Scheduled for March 26-27, 2015, this vibrant and colorful event promises to be a celebration of African heritage, bringing together artists and performers from across the continent.
A Festival of Culture and Connection
The Livingstone International Cultural Arts Festival is more than just a weekend of entertainment—it’s a celebration of the rich cultural tapestry that defines Africa. Following the success of the inaugural festival in June 2013, which was part of the David Livingstone Bicentenary & Livingstone 2013 Initiative, this year’s event is set to be even bigger and better, thanks to the generous sponsorship by the Zambian Tourism Board.
We are thrilled to announce that ten countries have been invited to participate, with Nigeria, Botswana, The Seychelles, and Zimbabwe already confirming their attendance. This gathering of nations will showcase the diversity and unity of Africa through a series of performances that highlight the unique traditions and artistic expressions of each participating country.
A Weekend of Festivities
The festival kicks off on Friday, March 26, with performances taking place at various venues around Livingstone. These initial showcases will offer visitors a taste of the diverse cultural performances to come, setting the stage for a weekend full of excitement.
Saturday, March 27, will be a day of high energy and celebration, starting with the much-anticipated Street Carnival. The streets of Livingstone will come alive with colorful costumes, lively music, and the rhythmic beats of traditional African dance. Local pop concerts will add to the festive atmosphere, leading up to a glamorous Gala Dinner in the evening—a perfect opportunity to unwind, mingle, and enjoy exquisite Zambian cuisine.
The grand finale of the festival takes place on Sunday, March 28, with the big arena festival held at The Royal Livingstone Golf Club. This all-day event will bring together all the participating groups in a spectacular showcase of music and dance, offering festival-goers an experience like no other.
